Private Duty Caregiver Services

VERITAS has trained and experienced Caregivers that will provide non-medical services to the elderly.  Our Caregivers help the elderly who suffer from a variety of conditions that prevent them from performing their activities of daily living by themselves.  In most cases, the presence of
VERITAS Caregivers is what makes it possible for the elderly to stay at their own homes instead of moving to a nursing home or assisted living facility.

What Are Activities Of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities Of Daily Living (IADLs)?

The level of care that an elderly needs depends on his/her ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL).  Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are day to day activities that are fundamental for basic functional living.  Inability to perform ADLs may indicate the need for some level of caregiver services at home.  Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are those activities that are not necessary for functional living but allows the elderly to live independently. An elderly person’s ability or inability to perform IADLs are used to evaluate their cognitive function and help determine the level of assistance they need.
